It’s the second day of our new year at the Internship. I’m here at the Malenovice Training Center with our 17 new Interns who are preparing for their nine-month journey. Jesus is the Way (John 14:6) and the journey is going to be, by God’s grace, on His path and on His path alone.

Serving Jesus is an exciting road to travel down. We don’t always see where it leads but we trust in God and use His Word as a flashlight (Psalm 119:105).

We are asking the Lord to lead us on the path of inner spiritual growth and outer ministry abilities. We are asking the Spirit to sanctify us in character and skills. Above all we are seeking to love God and love others (Matthew 22:36-39).

We love teenagers. To serve them, we are pouring everything we can into those who pastor these dear young people both inside and outside of our churches. Our Interns are branches of the Vine, shepherds of youth, fishers of souls, and light in the sometimes dark world of youth…and they are constantly strengthening these four roles with the help of coaches, local pastors, lessons and practical ministry.

Pray that we’ll impact the Kingdom of God by influencing and changing the lives of youth.

This is a year for growth!

Walking on His path,

JV Czech Internship Director

This year our training department is charging ahead with two exciting programs: “Timothy” for youth pastors and “Barnabas” for pastors and elders. Both are focused on care and growth.

We are at the beginning of both of these programs. “Barnabas” covers the entire Czech Republic and “Timothy” has two regions.

The School for Youth Leaders is going strong in two denominations.

We look forward to seeing how God will again be the Leader for our year. We are praying for these teams who are out supporting those who serve in the local churches pastoring souls. We are praying for God’s touch and for His changing influence that will help them go down the right path. We are also praying in faith for adequate financing for this all-important coaching work.

Director of School of leaders

The vision for the “Timothy” ministry is to have an inspiring community of youth leaders for growth. We had eleven participants and four leaders at our first meeting. We got off the train and the shock began. We were all given questionnaires and were put in pairs then sent out and evangelize. For most of the trainees the beginning was not easy but everyone in the end was really encouraged because we experienced several interesting and deep conversations and eight people in total were able to hear the Gospel. At night we attended the YMCA music festival. It was also very interesting. There were hundreds in attendance.

Teenagers led this event. The oldest leader was 20. Afterwards we had a great conversation with Terry English who initiated the whole project. We discussed evangelism in our clubs, youth groups and middle school ministries. The funniest quote of the weekend was “Even a fall on your face is a step forward”. To spend 24 hours with these leaders and to discuss, to study, and to pray together was a blessing for the participants and for the leaders as well. I look forward to our next training.
