The Internship in Prague

The week in Prague was wonderful. The seminar from Dana Harris taught us about the formation of the New Testament, about its authenticity and about its reliability. Gary Collins spoke about some things which were new to me — Christian Coaching. I also was touched by the “Law and Grace” lesson in our Systematic Theology course. I liked the fact that we walked everywhere in Prague.

We had some pretty encouraging discussions. The strongest experience was the day we spent blessing Prague. Some cleaned churches, others encouraged local believers, some went to pray for the city and others helped the homeless. Christians in action! It was great. The training week was capped off with the Willow Creek Leadership Summit where we heard tons of ways to bring about change. I recommend it to everyone. Thanks for the opportunity to be there and for your prayers.

The School of Youth Leaders - Infusion 2009-2010

By God’s grace we began the first and second year of Infusion. This is a school for youth workers in the Plymouth Brethren denomination. The first year is focused on Bible basics and leadership foundations. The second year is filled with “how-to’s” in working with youth. I’m excited that 46 students participated and I see this as a big responsibility I have before God.

At the end of November we had our first weekend together. I was excited about how the first-year students were fired up and engaged in learning and discussion. The second year students were a part of a seminar led by Samo Lacho on the theme “Ministry and Family”. Dave Patty taught on “Ministry and Finances”. I’m thankful to God that He created such a great team: Martin and Ondra Simik, Boza Lach, Lenka Pipalova and Tomas Jezek. I’m praying that God will send these students out in His service and in His strength.

Timothy in East Bohemia

The first “Timothy” meeting in East Bohemia included 8 youth leaders. The entire program was focused on the theme “Leadership”. We had lessons, discussion and conversations. We always have a guest speaker. This time it was Ondra Svatos. We discussed until the late hours of the night about team leadership, team makeup, team communication, team roles, team conflicts, and team problem solving.

I believe that this training was more than just an activity; it was a ministry gathering that will bring fruit into the students’ ministries.

Vláďa Pípal

The School of Youth Leaders in the Plymouth Brethren Denomination (Infusion) is helpful for our churches. It shows us Jesus Christ’s way of serving. It trains us in personal spiritual growth. It helps the community of youth pastors in our denomination grow. I thank God for this great opportunity.

Vlada Pipal, Pastoral Worker in the Plymouth Brethren Church

Jan Jackanič

The School of Youth Leaders is an inspiration for my work with youth. It helps me think with vision. I learn about my gifts and how to better understand the Bible. It helped me learn from other Christian approaches. I fondly remember how we as youth pastors shared about our joys and struggles in leading youth and how the instructors constantly encouraged us.

Dita Frantíková

Josiah Venture does work that would be tough for one church to handle by itself. It focuses on how to do weekend trainings for leaders in the most effective way and we are glad that someone is leading us through this process!
